An Almost Perfect Christmas
by Donna Fasano
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 1, 2014
A fan of holiday stories regardless of the time of year, I really looked forward to reading An Almost Perfect Christmas by Donna Fasano. A beautiful, yet somewhat bittersweet tale of compassion, love and grief, Ms. Fasano’s story made me laugh, cry and remember to be thankful for my healthy family. Good character development, plenty of emotional angst, and the perfect pace kept me turning the pages. If you want a holiday romance with just a touch of spicy heat, then An Almost Perfect Christmas is one you’ve got to try.Ms. Fasano does a wonderful job developing all of the characters in this story from Christy, a pediatric nurse who understands pain and loss on a personal level, to Aaron Chase and his precious little girl Izzy, who’s wish is for a Christmas celebration at their beach house. The secondary characters, from Bridget, one of Christy’s co-workers, to the shop owners at the beach add just enough color and compassion to help the story move along. While Christy and Aaron are at different stages in the grief cycle, they are perfect for each other because of what they have and are going to experience. Will Christy’s act of kindness to a sick little girl help her deal with her own issues? Will Christy and Aaron realize what Izzy really wants for Christmas? You’ll have to read An Almost Perfect Christmas to find out, it brought me to tears and that’s really saying something since I try not to cry over books!
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Crowns
