Book
Beginnings on Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader. Every Friday we
share the first sentence (or so) of the book we’re currently reading, along
with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or
anything else the opener inspires.
My
Book Beginning:
Aftermath:
CSI Reilly Steel (Book 6) by Casey Hill
‘Who are you
wearing? It’s gorgeous.’
My Thoughts: This is a somewhat ambiguous beginning for a thriller/police procedural but once you get past the first couple of sentences, you definitely understand why the author chose to begin with this phrase.
What do you think? Don't forget to leave your book beginning below and to link-up at Rose City Reader.

Friday
56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice on every Friday.
To Play along
here are the Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader (If you have to improvise, that's ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your post below.
*Don’t
forget to add your post URL (not your blog url) at Freda’s Voice.
*It's that simple.
*It's that simple.
My 56 (Also from Aftermath):
“None of us can imagine for a second what
you must be going through, sweetheart.
It’s really brave of you coming on this morning.”
“I supposed I don’t think of it as brave,
but thank you.”
“So…how is Josh?”
About Aftermath:
CSI Reilly Steel (Book 6) by Casey Hill
A
random attack? Or a carefully choreographed diversion?
When a revered Irish sportsman is viciously attacked in his Dublin home during an apparent robbery-in-progress, Reilly Steel and the GFU team are tasked with finding the perpetrator.
Such a high-profile victim ensures the investigation is immediately under the spotlight, but Reilly worries that celebrity may be blinding everyone to the fact that nothing - in particular the victim’s wife - is quite what it seems.
Can she persuade her colleagues to look past the celebrity and carefully constructed public persona, and convince everyone that there is a lot more to this famous family than meets the eye?
