Start From Where? By Linda TroutWherever you are…start from there! **It doesn’t matter if you’ve been writing for a week, month, 10 years or more. No matter where you are, start from that point and then move forward. In the current day and age of self publishing, you may be tempted to throw something up there willy-nilly. Yes, you’re impatient to see your name on a book cover. I know the feeling, too. Do yourself a favor and wait until you’ve had others check the manuscript for you, preferably professionals. You have to learn the craft and hone your skills before you can produce a truly unique and quality product. No matter where we are in our writing career, there is always someone who writes better or has achieved more than you have. You aren’t competing with everyone else, though, you’re competing against yourself. Or should be.I have a lot of sayings to help motivate myself, but I like this one the best.Inch by inch it’s a cinch; by the yard it’s hard; and by the mile it’s impossible.Think about it.Then inch your way to success.** Source: Author, Speaker Von Nash, Chapter Title: Wherever you are…start from there!, in the book, Stand Up Speak Out And Win! Emily
Redfern's ex-fiancé learned to kill on the back streets of New York. Now, she
is his target. Broke, exhausted, and a step ahead of the man she once loved,
she clings to one last hope: the wilds of Alaska. The quiet
safety of her hide-a-way becomes addictive as she grows to care for the man who
offers her refuge.
Released from prison after a wrongful conviction, native Alaskan Sam Tarkington is determined to regain his business, repair his reputation, and rebuild his life. But when he meets a desperate and vulnerable woman, guarding secrets of her own, she tugs at his heart. She's a distraction he can't afford. Sam must choose Emily or achieving his dreams.
Like Emily's life, the peacefulness of the wilderness is an illusion as danger lurks in the distance. Does Sam hold the key to her survival or will her past cost them everything?

Looks like an interesting story. There is just too little RS out there right now.
ReplyDeleteYes...but I keep finding them so I guess i'm lucky in that regard. This one is pretty good and i think you would enjoy it.
DeleteThank you, Maria. I'm glad you enjoyed my story! I know it's all subjective and what one person may like, another may hate.
DeleteHi Maggie,
DeleteI'm glad my story caught your eye. I love RS, have to have bad guys so I can kill them off..on paper, anyway. :) I have another RS book titled Grave Secrets you might look in to. Right now it's on sale for .99 cents, but not sure how much longer that price will hold.
