Book Inspiration: A Rose by Any Other Name…by Amelia BerlinEstaleenie, Genoie and Arminda are names of my great-great aunts, ladies whom I didn’t actually know. Well, I think I met one of them when I was very little, but the others had passed before I came to be. Their legendary names, however, have lingered in the family.I don’t know much about the real ladies. I know Arminda was a scrap-book queen, but everything else—the things that my grandma remembers about her aunts—I don’t know.So I created the three sisters with bits and pieces of quirks shared by my grandmother and her many sisters(who are all hilarious, sweet, and in true Romance-heroine fashion, have no idea how completely adorable they are or why elderly widowers follow them around.).In fact, after I caved to pressure and let my mamaw read the book, the only thing she objected to was my description of their favored hairstyle. Then I reminded her she couldn’t take the hair-style opinion of someone with purple hair seriously. That got me off the hook. Mostly. JExcerpt“What should we do?”“Not get involved,” Wyatt replied.“They want our help.” Imogen’s eyes were bright. He may have tricked her into coming, but she couldn’t be enjoying herself more.He had to burst her bubble. Gently. “Not everyone wants your help, Imm.”“Maybe not, but they need it.” She turned to face him and stepped in, hips first. Her belly brushed against his hips, but her shoulders pulled back so that the material of that dress pulled against her breasts. The teasing light in her eyes told him she knew exactly what she was doing to him.She leaned up, and he was drawn to lean in. Every sparking inch of his being wanted to grab her hips and pull her harder against him, lose himself in the sweet scent of her soft flesh.“Everyone would be happier if they just let me have my way.” She let the tip of her nose tickle at the hollow beneath his ear, warm, moist breath fanning his flaming skin.Kiss her. He could kiss her. Dance…it was practically expected.“Ask Genoie to dance.” The slow, mournful wail of a steel guitar announced the start of a slow song. “I’ll ask Mr. Shoemaker and we’ll meet in the middle.” She spun out of his grasp before he could argue and swished away. Did her hips always sway like that when she walked?Good grief, he’d turned loose a siren at the septuagenarian dance hall.Wyatt groaned. But if he did what she said, at least he’d get to swap off and have her for another dance. He headed for the sisters.***There will be prizes along the way so if you would like to follow the tour, behold the tour calendar in easy-peasy picture-clicky format!

Info
There's never been a day without stories playing in my
head. But now when someone interrupts my daydreams to ask what I'm doing I get
to say: Working!
I live with my family and a passel of critters in rural southern Ohio, in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian mountains, on a cleared spot of land plopped in the middle of national forest. Everywhere I look it's either hills with trees or fields with cows. If you had a view like that, you'd spend lots of time watching the people inside your head too.
I'm lying--I do that--the area is beautiful, the air is clean and fresh if you count out those gassy cows, and the people are nice. Plus, the Great Serpent Mound is within easy driving distance if I ever feel the need to visit mysterious places--and really, who doesn't feel that need sometimes?
When not cow watching, mysterious place visiting, or writing, I love to read, watch movies, make stuff with my hands, and geek-out over documentaries. Any documentary. Even the ones with subjects I have absolutely no desire to learn about prior to discovering there is a documentary about it... I think it must be some kind of Geeky Syndrome which I shall one day try to have diagnosed and named after me.
I also like to learn various antiquated(yet awesome) skills. In case of Zombiepocalypse, I'll still have bread, cheese, jam, lacy under-things(I love tatting!), granulated sugar, fluffy marshmallows and I'll always have something new to read. Carbs 1 -- Zombies 0!

FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour in exchange for a fair and honest review. My Review
While I’ve read numerous Harlequin romance books in the past, Craving Her Rough Diamond Doc by Amalie Berlin is the first Harlequin Medical romance I’ve ever read. Not exactly sure what to expect, I was pleased with Ms. Berlin’s debut novel and my dip into the medical romance genre. Adding just enough medical jargon and situations to make the story interesting, I found myself turning the pages to discover what situation the characters would find themselves in next.A nurse with commitment issues, Imogen Donally, agrees to help Amanda, her best friend from college, by working as a travelling nurse while Amanda is on bed rest during her pregnancy. While staying someplace six months is a long commitment for Imogen, she’s never been in the Appalachian Mountains and looks forward to her new experience. At least until she meets Dr. Wyatt Beauchamp, the man she’s agreed to work for.Born and raised in the mountains, Wyatt Beauchamp wants to give the people he loves and respects the best medical care he can afford. Working with his cousin, Amanda, as his nurse has made his task easier. Dealing with a complete stranger who will probably hurt his practice in the long run is definitely not part of his plan. The scenes between Imogen and Wyatt are well written and showcase two strong, and stubborn, individuals who both have a genuine call and natural gift for being in the medical field. Ms. Berlin does a good job developing both characters; while Wyatt is standoffish and a little difficult at first, it’s understandable because of what he’s trying to accomplish. For her part, Imogen has her own issues; she’s reluctant to commit, has self esteem issues and is very stubborn to boot.Perhaps because of their initial issues, their mutual attraction is hot and undeniable. While they try to avoid becoming involved, due to professionalism and the fact it’s supposed to be a short term situation, they simply can’t say no. Forced to deal with the issues from their pasts, Wyatt and Imogen find themselves falling in love and learning to accept each other.
Will Imogen agree to extend her time in the mountains? Will Wyatt realize Imogen is the perfect partner both in life and in medicine? You’ll have to read Craving Her Rough Diamond Doc to find out. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this new author.
